I came to yoga in 2011 as a way of healing body, mind and spirit. I was very ill in various ways, one being severe Rheumatoid Arthritis in both my ankles. Yoga has helped heal my physical body. I quickly fell deeply in love with a strong vinyasa practice, I love poses that encourage me to move past fear, have faith in my physical body, connect to the breath without thinking.
After completing a 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training in 2015 at the Shala, I started teaching almost immediately, wanting to share with others the many gifts I have received from my yoga practice. I discovered Bikram yoga in 2016, and have grown a profound respect for the practice, as it is all about the strengthening and protecting of the spine, I did a private training through Yo Yoga in 2017. It is the greatest honor and privilege to guide others through the practice of yoga.
Today I am blessed to teach at various studios around Cape Town, including Yo Yoga, Yogazone, Hotpod and Owl & the Wolf, my favorite being my dharma project, Downward Facing Adopt a Dog, on a quarterly basis at De Waal park, where we practice yoga with the dogs from Mdzananda Animal Clinic looking for a home to live acoustic music by Tombstone Pete.
